Zoom Herf

Looking through the Herfs Up sub-forum, i dont see any mention of ever doing Zoom Herfs for those unable to travel to the "physical" Herfs due to cost and /or distance (not surprisingly there are never any in Wyoming, and i don't drive anymore anyway).

Also, due to state covid restrictions, no residents of state controlled assisted living facilities, skilled nursing facilities or nursing homes, are allowed to leave the state without being quarentined for 14 days upon their return.

I've done one on another forum and it was nice to be able to smoke with others, chat about whatever, and put faces and voices to names of people whose posts you read regularly.

Also done Zoom calls with my family in Michigan for holidays a number of times, so I'm familiar enough with it to be able to set everything up.

Would there be any interest in this with you guys?

Wanted to bring it up in a higher traffic area, and it does also kinda fit the purpose of this forum too.

I think we tried to plan one last year. I did some one on one 'herf's' with some friends over the last year - I think it would be a cool idea some evening in the future.

Very glad to see some interest in it, since none of the other 85 veterans here smokes cigars except 1 who occasionally smokes a cheap cigarillo, so Zoom is as close as I can get to smoking with others and bs'ing about whatever, and also since I'm unable to go to any physical herfs.

The couple i have done only had 3 or 4 people involved, but it was still very nice to smoke, chat, and actually see the people Who's posts i frequently see.

And especially curious to see what Roger looks like since i interact with him quite a bit.

Will think up a few dates and times to post to see what works best for those who have said they are in.

Will check timezones of where you guys are to better select a good time when people are done with work or other daily activities, like in the evening.

Looks like everyone here is eastern time, with Roger being an unknown since there is no location in his profile and i can't recall if he has ever mentioned it to me.

How does 7pm Eastern time sound to everyone?

Will likely pick a Sunday as most people tend to not be working that day, and are typically less active on Sundays, especially in the evening, unless someone has a problem being available on Sunday evenings.


How does Sunday the 16th at 7pm EST sound to everyone?

If the time and date works for the other 2 guys in this thread, I'll request everyone's email address to send out the invite link to everyone


I cant recall Rogers's location from the box of cigars he sent me to review since my memory is so damaged, so not sure if the time works for him.

Got it tentatively set up for Sunday, January 16th at 7pm EST and have the invite email saved, just need to make sure the date and time works for everyone and get email addresses to send the invite.

Pretty simple to learn app. I like it. It's the first time I have ever been the one to set it up, and it was pretty easy to figure out
