Dad rode 806 miles before realizing that he was not going to be able to complete another 350 miles, consisting of approximately 200 miles of hills. He estimated that the mileage from Greenboro back to Bowie, Md would be 350 miles.

Therefore 806 miles on his bicycle plus 350 estimated miles to complete his round trip equals 1156 total miles.
