How Dry Before A Stick Is Too Far Gone

How long can a cigar be dried out before it's too late to put it into a good humidor to re-humidify it?

A news stand owner I just found has a cigar humidor case that she's never humidified. Since she said she'd like to get rid of the whole thing (cedar lined bookshelf style display case and stock) I thought I might make an offer if I could get these dry sticks back into decent shape.

Any opinions?
