I purchased a large Igloo cooler and set up an Igloo-a-dor a month or so ago. I made a humidification device out of florist's foam, placed it in a tupperware container, drilled holes, put in the 50/50 solution, etc. All seems fine, but I want a reliable guage of humidity. I went into Radio Shack yesterday in search of their digital one, and they looked at me like this ...... So any thoughts where a decent one can be found?

PART II - Also, do you Igloo-a-dor owners leave the small drain spout open to promote some air circulation?

I highly recommend the VWR hygrometer. I bought one from Arlin Liss a couple years ago and have been most pleased with it.

PART II: I do not leave the drain open on my coolers, especially in the winter when humidity drops to nothing here in Missouri.

The digital pens (VWR is just a reseller) have been the most accurate. Make certain you get one that is calibrated and certified.

I guess my radio shack punks are a little smarter. They pointed to one right away.
It works great, reads 2% high.

Check out Arlins site. He also sells a remote hygrometer. You place sensor in igloo, and the display unit can go anywhere in house. you can get an accurate reading of your igloo without opening it up. i use this in my big desktops, and it works great. arlinliss.com

I use Radio Shack 63-1013 models in my 2 coolers and in my Pelican. I have instructions on calibrating if interested.

VWR is the most accurate.I hve many and have ben lucky with Diamond Crowns and Western Digitals.I hae 4 Diamond Crowns and they are within 1% of the WR and 3 Western Digitals that are also in this range. The 3 Radio Shack ones I have are off by 5%,2%and 4%.
