Xikar Cutters???

Hello, i'm really considering buying one today the one i have my eye on is the 39.00 one... So here's my story... I called this one place called Smokey's of Livonia this bitch answers the phone i ask if they had the Xikar Cutters the bitch said what about them so i said do u have them she said yes so then i ask do u have the 39.00 one... She said no so i hung up... So then i call Humidor One in Southfield to see if they had them the guy on the phone said yes we have the plastic one's so then i said is that the 39.00 one he said yes so now i'm debateing if i should go pick one up... My question is what is the difference from the plastic one's and the others???...

The Xi ($59) has the aluminum body (have one, love it), the Xi2 ($39) is the nylon fiberglass composite body model, the Xi3 ($79) features a stainless steel body and comes with the choice of rubber or redwood handles. The Xi and the Xi3 are engravable if that matters, all have the same blades. My next one will be the redwood Xi3, engraved with my name or initials.

I've had trouble keeping them sharp. After some snipping, they seem to do more pinching then cutting.

Send it back to0 t0he company. They resharpen, gratis. Most likely they'll just send you a brand new cutter. That's what they did for me, anyway.

Oh yeah, take the cigar outta the tube before cutting. The blades stay sharper that way.

Yeah, that's what I did the first time with the first one. Kinda dull again.
Other one needs resharpening too. Nice of them to resharpen/replace but kinda a pain-in-the-ass to have to send back. I like the shape too.
And, yes, it really does do a good job of denting those aluminum tubes!

I've seen the Xi for around $40 and the xi2's around $30. The one I have is a Xi and works great. The Xi2's from playing with them aren't so great. The ones I have played with are no way near as smooth as the Xi.

I still prefer my SAK over my Xi, Palio, and my Davidoffs.

Josh, be sure to register your purchase online with Xicar and they will send a leather case for your cutter.
