Microwave ovens

Any recommendations for a good one in the $200 range?

I bought a Samsung a couple of months ago for about that price. Your choices go way up for an extra $50.

To be more specific, in the $200-$300 range. I was looking at this one along with a couple of Panasonic units

https://www.abt.com/product/111694/S...19M8020TG.html

It seems that there are negative reviews on every brand/model in this price range for poor longevity and/or poor repair/warranty service. It's a small percentage but still of some concern.

Buy two. The odds of both of them failing are infinitesimal.

All the more ammo for not spending much. They're built to last about 4 years. Best Buy's extended warranty is good. SimplySafe warranties are worthless.

Myself. I would look for a bit more wattage. At least a 1000W.
You will find most cooking instructions favor at least that.
To get your price range you may have to sacrifice some capacity though.

The Samsung I linked above is 950W and 1.9cuft...

Also looking at this Panasonic, maybe more leaning towards

https://www.abt.com/product/100765/P...NNSN966SR.html

1250W and 2.2cuft

You guys are right, lower expectations for longevity and consider it a throw away item like most low end electronics these days...

You really have to include the extended warranty in the price. I could write an essay into why, but they aren't made to last.

The only thing that would trouble me is the door switch. My family has gotten used to just pulling the door open to stop it. If your family does as well, be prepared to replace that switch.

I just went through this a couple of months ago. Still fresh in my mind.
