What NOT to do with your torch lighter...

WHAT NOT TO DO WITH YOUR TORCH LIGHTER!

This actually happened to me at a herf a few weeks ago, so don't think it's so dumb that it can't occur to someone else who is equally stupid.
It was a bright, sunny day in the back yard of a renowned HP BOTL.
I tried firing up a butane torch lighter. Geez, it's not making that usual "whoosing" noise.
And the sunshine is so bright, I can't see the butane flame. Is it going, or isn't it? So what do I do? I wave my hand in front of the lighter to see if its going!
Moral of the story - do not wave your hand in front of a butane torch lighter if you are unsure if it's lit or not.
