It's just nasty hot around here, temps in the mid to upper 90s with enough humidity to make it really unpleasant. Probably some lighter mass market beer, Bud Light, PBR, or Miller High Life.

Flor de Cańa 7 Gran Reserva rum from Nicaragua... Not terribly complex, but very smooth and drinkable nonetheless.

Scored some Bob's '47 today. It's Boulevard Brewing's Oktoberfest seasonal. They're chilling in the beer fridge waiting for me to come home this afternoon.

WT 101. Nobody around here has Buffalo Trace. Their new vodka (Wheatly) is all over, but no original BT.

Picked up a bottle of Uncle Nearest 1884. Never tried it. Some herf buddies coming over. First fire in months.

Update: The Uncle Nearest was smooth and the flavor was ok. It was like drinking Diet Whiskey though lacking in body. If you like a lite whiskey this is for you.

I picked up a bottle of Evan Williams bottled in bond 100 proof, which I think is the sweet spot for bourbon. I drank a lot of Evan Williams green label in college. That stuff is just a step above paint thinner, which I suspect tastes better.

This is a decent pour. Not too expensive, but it surpassed all of my expectations while being convinced that I was taking a real risk in trying. Buffalo Trace and Sazerac rye are unavailable here in town (I just order them from Prime Time Liquor in San Diego and eat the shipping cost) and the package store was out of the big bottles of WT101. Thought about Flatboat, Larceny is suddenly unavailable in the 1.75l. Decided to try this stuff (priced roughly the same as Jim Beam, which was my daily pour for years). I fully expected to hate it, but I actually like this stuff.

Johnnie Walker Black Label... It's been a while since I last tasted this blend. Not bad at all.
