Cigar feel if stored properly??

In other posts I have discussed the cigar problems I have been having with cigars from my local store. The cigars are rock hard and some have been hard to cut. When I have cut a couple the wrapper has split and parts have come off near the head. Also the wrappers have been unwrapping at different points even before cutting.

I have been having a sour grass like taste in many of the cigars as well.

I was under the impression that these cigars are over humidified; that they were too "wet" and had swelled making them hard.

Today I picked up a Fuente 858 and it had all of the same symptoms. I went back and asked if they kept their humidor at a different humidity level than they used to since this has all been a relatively new problem. The owner was not there so I will go back and talk to him when he is. But I did notice on the two devices inside the humidor that they humidity level was low, about 61%, and the temperature was high, 77o Fahrenheit.

I have a few questions for the ones with more experience with this than I have.

Could the high temperature cause the cigars to have these problems?

What should the cigars feel like? They used not to be this hard they would give when squeezed lightly but would come back.

Thanks for any info.
