Need to lower humidity--Did I get the right stuff?

I just picked up two containers (24oz) of Schultz "Moisture Plus" Watering Crystals. Suppossed to absorb water, swelling into gelatin like crystals. Meant to be used for plants, to prevent soil from drying out. Should this work to lower himidity in my caqbinet humidor? Contains polyacrylamide copolymer. Thanks in advance.
