My daughter's wedding will be held outside at our house. The rock band will be playing at the wedding ceremony and after for the reception. I was just wondering what the sound will be like out in the open. Should I have them in front of the stand of pine trees, or up against the back of the house? Or maybe just out in the open field? I don't want to hear just noise.
SSJ...I'm good at what I do. What is it that I do again?!!!

i do a lot of live sound, and i think it mostly comes down to the PA system that the band uses. just being loud wont cut it; they got to have good quality sound coming out. put 'em next to the house so everyone is close by, that way they wont have to push it so loud and risk getting distortion aka noise.

I agree with Lotus some of the best sound I have had has been outdoors at Festivals with able sound crews/equipment. I do disagree with having people 'close' to the band. I have known very few bands that understand the terms 'turn it down'. If they have a drummer (rock band) they have to play loud enough to compete with the drums. I play music and someone else handles the sound, but if it were me I would have them away from the crowd somewhat. Like I said Lotus_dude does sound I just complain about the sound when it ain't right. I don't think being very close to a 'rock' band is good for conversation and what not.
