File Sharing

We need a little controversy here, and if this has been debated before, it hasn't been for a while.

Where do the regulars here stand in regards to the file sharing issue? For, against, limited, unlimited?

I admit to using WinMX to get quite a bit of music. Like online radio, it has allowed me to broaden my musical horizons significantly. I can hear a tune on RadioParadise or KPIG.com, and search it up. I might grab a handful of different things by the same artist. Then when downloading, when I get a fast connection, I will browse that person's files. If I like their taste, I will grab something I'm not familiar with. I've gotten some great stuff that way.

Are there other file sharers out there? Are we going to roast in hell?

I think file sharing is a good thing as long as it's not abused

I for one love file sharing and hope it continues. If I hear something good about a band, I d/l a few tunes and give them a listen. If I like it I'll buy the cd because it's worth my hard earned $$ and that I'm also a sucker for "cover art" and liner notes. All the BS from the record companies regarding monetary losses is just that, BS. Maybe if they signed and released music worth listening to, people would buy it.
