It's still true to this very day. Do the math:
- 8.00
$ 2.00

Times have changed.
Back then there were status conscious consumers paying $10 for a $2.00 cigar.
Due to the S-Chip tax of 41.6 cents a cigar people are now paying $10 or more for a $2.41 cigar.
