While there is a percentage of the population that wants smoking bans I don't believe its a majority. They rely on polls done by the antismoking organizations. If you follow any of the gallop polls done in the states you'll get a majority that are for bans in restaurants. In bars its been hovering around 70% against bans.

That would be far less if the public was given all the facts on SHS. Right now a very high percentage of adults in the US believe that it is unhealthy. They believe the hype and a majority still don't believe that we should erode our freedom.
