Embassy Cigar Review(s)
Here is 1 review hope you like:
Cigar: Embassy Honduran Size: 6 X 50 Toro Wrapper: CT Shade/Ecuador Binder: Indonesian Filler: Honduran, Nicaraguan My Review: This was my first Embassy Honduran, thanks to the great guy from Embassy for the free 5 pack! I took a look at this Cigar, and MAN did it LOOK Great !! The wrapper was Flawless, Nice light color, no cracks/rips a great wrap. There were no bumps on this one! The wrapper was solid, keeping the outside nice and flush. I lit it up and and noticed pretty fast the nice aroma with a nice flavorful honduran taste. nice medium body flavor with verry little after taste (not bad). Smoke was nice and airy, not sufficating.... The burn was Near Perfect, Straight to the Nub ! about 1.5" into the cigar I noticed a minor canoe in the center of the cigar, made me a little nervous but it quickly cleaned up. Also noticed a perfect draw on this cigar! Flavor was SOLID and lasted straight to the NUB. did not get harsh towards the end. I will BUY these in the future ! |

Cigar: Embassy Honduran
Size: 6 X 50 toro Wrapper: cameroon My Review: I got to try one of the NEW Cameroon wrappers from Embassy, I was glad to have been choosen. Looks: Little bumpy, wrapper was intact. not great looking, but not bad looking either. Burn: Burned even. Taste: was light-medium body, slightly different than the regular embassy honduran.. Construction: was ok, stayed together well. I compared this to the current Embassy Honduran. So my overall review on this cigar is: It's an ok cigar, but I would pick the regular Embassy Honduran over this Cameroon model. I would give this cigar like a 3.5 (out of 5), while the regular embassy hon get's a 4... |

I smoked my first Embassy cigar today. It was the churchill Ct. shade wrapper. I agree with your review. Mine did not tunnel. Smoked evenly all the way to the end.

I ordered a bundle of the Embassy Hon Conn and have them resting/drying per Uncle Mike's instructions. I will definately smoke one this weekend and I must say I am looking forward to it. I wish I had received on of theose Cammies, they sound like a really nice cigar.

Smoked my first Embassy Nic yesterday. It was a fine smoke all around. Gonna fire up an Embassy Honduran later today. I'll let you know how it turns out. Thanks for the good review!

Smoked the Honduran w/ Conn wrapper on Sunday. I noticed right away that the filler did not seem to be bunched very tight; the whole cigar felt very soft. But the draw was actually very nice, and the thing burned evenly all the way to the end. Many Honduran smokes just don't do it for me. They always seem to get sour about halfway through. But this one didn't do that. It had a pleasant aroma. The flavor was nice too, if not very distinctive. Overall this cigar was much better than many other Honduran cigars I've tried. When you factor in the price, they are a bargain.

Let me explain my cigar rolling philosophy. There is an optimum amount of filler that should go into a cigar to make the perfect feel and perfect draw but due to the nature of rolling cigars this is not always possible. For this reason I have trained my rollers to err on the side of slightly less filler than slightly more so that we don't have any problems with not being able to draw my cigars. We are always trying to construct the perfect cigar and we use a "drawmaster" on our cigars but it is a very difficult proposition. In other words I would rather have a slightly softer cigar that still smokes fine than have a cigar that is overfilled and unsmokeable.

Good Point cgrman44..
I would rather have a cigar a little underfilled.. I've had cigars packed too tight from other brands (one like rock hard).. I guess cigar folks like consistancy... but I supose if 100% of your cigars had the perfect fill/draw, perfect taste, perfect burn and construction/looks; then your cigars would probably be boxed, and cost a lot more... maybe that's just a given for bundles. I'm sure it's not an easy job. Thanks for your effort, and for the nicely priced cigars... |

cgrman44 - Can you explain how the drawmaster works. Is it used before putting on the cap? Seeing how I have no idea as to what the drawmaster is can you explain that too? Thanks

Hooko, The Drawmaster machine draws a vacuum on the cigars after the bunching and molds but before the final wrapper is applied. The machine has a vacuum gauge and we know from testing cigars at a certain vacuum what the correct range of vacuum is. Anything too low is underfilled and anything over our spec's will be too difficult to draw. It took my rollers a few weeks after I purchased my machine to get the right amount of filler in the cigars. If a buncher couldn't get it right after two weeks we had to let them go. Hope this explains the process. Thom Daley
