Leon Redbone
Anyone else out there listen to him? I was listending to him on the train ride to work this morning - I've always enjoyed him - just kind of fun and soothing to listen to.. The albums (oops CD's) i enjoy are On the Track, Double Time, Champagne Charlie and Up a Lazy River. Some good songs!! Anyone else???? Any other albums worth picking up??

I've seen him a couple times, very fun show, he is an entertainer.
I think he does a great job of song selection and a graceful player that does not sound too polished. When he first came to 'prominence' was after his appearance on SNL way back when. The next day his albums were selling out everywhere. He was mostly unheard of before that night. He still does not give out much info about himself. I only know of the CDs you mentioned

I have all of his albums except a live album that I've only seen once, and could kick myself for not taking advantage of the opportunity.
All of his stuff is good. He was with John Prine earlier this yr. in D.C., but only played 45 minutes. Prine played 2 hrs. I wish that it had been the other way around. Christmas is coming up--get his "Christmas Island" album. He has about 10 albums in all. Some songs are repeated, but different--example is Mr. Jellyroll Maker. I saw his SNL performance. I have most of his Johnny Carson appearances on tape. And don't forget about his detergent commercials, for All, I think.
