Mood Music

No, I'm not talking about Barry White "mood music" . Just got to thinking about my music listening habits, and realized I that I rarely just listen to a hodge-podge of music genres at any one time, but instead kinda get "stuck" on a certain artist and listen to that particular music for the time being. I guess it just depends upon my mood. For whatever reason, I have been in a "Randy Newman" mood as of late, really been enjoying going back in the archives and listening to his stuff. I wonder what the reception would be now days to some of his stuff.....in our so politically correct times? I always loved the way Newman made his points through his songwriting with his sardonic wit.

I am there with you. I can jump around but generally stick with one artist or genre before moving on to the next.

I go with whatever my mood is which usually means one genre' at a time. When we play in the bars we do a large variety of styles to see what the people there might like, then go from there.

My dad was a Glenn Miller fan. I heard this a lot growing up.

An acquired taste, and a good one at that.

Really depends on the mood. Some memorable moods are Brubeck, Highwaymen, and even Enya on occasion.

Most dependable mood music? Jimmy Buffett. I hear him and I'm back at The Camp.
