Torano Exodus Pyramid
I've had this cigar in the 'dor for a long time now, and seeing how Torano's get such rave reviews all the time, I thought that it was high time I gave it a try.
First think I noticed about this beautiful pyramid was the smell. Reminded me of dark, unsweetened chocolate/cocoa. Even the pre-light draw tasted like cocoa. I lit the thing, and was amazed that the aroma was distinctly cocoa-y as was the taste. Pure bitter-sweet chocolate. Reminded me of the few Padrons I've tried. I smoked this cigar way down, especting it to pick up some other flavors, but all I could detect was maybe a little earthiness towards the end. Body was med., but I would rate the flavor depth as mild. It also had a very 'dry' texture on the palate. A well-constructed cigar for sure but not my cup of tea - I've never been a maduro fan because of the bitter-sweet chocolate flavors (with a few exceptions, however). |
