Eagle Rare 17 year old Single Barrel Bourbon
Been enjoying a bottle of this stuff in moderation. 4 ice cubes, two fingers at a time. It definitely has a unique flavor, unlike any other bourbon I've had. Unlike a lot of single barrel varieties I've tried, the ice really opens up the flavor as it melts...kid of like a single malt Scotch whisky.
It is very, very smooth, but it has kind of a dull woody flavor as well. I'm not sure how to describe it any other way than dull...meaning it isn't bright in the nose like Maker's Mark or Booker's is. Don't get me wrong...I like it a lot, but it's a bit of a confounding whiskey in terms of trying to pin down the flavor.
