ALEXANDRIA, VA (January 04, 2023) – The Board of Directors of Cigar Rights of America (CRA) is delighted to announce the appointment of Mike Copperman as the organization's new executive director. This decision comes after an extensive search and selection process to find a dynamic and experienced leader to guide CRA through its next phase of growth and advocacy.

Mike, who currently serves as the Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Director at CRA, a position that he will also remain in, has played a pivotal role in advocating for the rights of cigar enthusiasts and industry stakeholders. His dedication to navigating the complex landscape of legislative and regulatory frameworks ensured that the organization effectively represented the interests of its members in Washington, DC.

With his experience, Mike brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep understanding of the premium cigar industry to his new role. With a proven track record in leadership and advocacy, Mike is poised to lead CRA in its mission to protect the rights and interests of cigar enthusiasts, manufacturers, and retailers nationwide.

As the executive director, Mike will oversee the organization's strategic direction, enhance member engagement, and spearhead advocacy efforts on behalf of the members of CRA. His passion for the industry and commitment to preserving the traditions and businesses associated with premium cigars align seamlessly with CRA's core values.

"We are thrilled to welcome Mike as the new Executive Director of CRA. His wealth of experience and dedication to our cause make him the ideal leader to advance our mission and navigate the evolving landscape of premium cigar advocacy," said Robert Levin, President of CRA.

In expressing his enthusiasm for his new role, Mike stated, "I am honored to begin this next chapter at CRA at such a pivotal time for the premium cigar industry. I look forward to continuing to protect the rights and traditions that make our community unique."
