i just got a cooler left over from our x-mas party. It's an igloo, and I notice that when it is shut, if i press down on the center of the lid, air whooshes out of the sides where it closes.

Is like the joke where the appropriate advice is "Don't push on it like that then" or is this cooler worthless? I'm thinking that the seal is OK but maybe pushing on the lid is really bending the lid so of course it won't be sealed.
