Vasmoker, you are absolutely correct. People that think relative humidity is the end-all to their storage philosophies are in denial. Absolute humidity is the goal we should all be striving for. What absolute humidity each of us prefers is another story up to debate. But the 70/70 rule was created to keep your smokes at a certain absolute humidity - a number determined by a bunch of Cuban scientists probably.
