Cellophane is a wood product, not a plastic. It will breathe (permit oxygen and moisture exchange and movement), but at a slower rate than a naked cigar. Its purpose is to protect the delicate wrapper leaf of the cigar. I leave mine on, you can leave them on, or take them off.

Flip a coin, your choice.

If you do much trading, or handle your cigars a lot, consider leaving them on.
