Honestly, an in depth description on these things is well above my pay grade. That being said, I just plain love this stuff. I'm very fortunate in that my local purveyor takes good care of me and I get this at close to retail. The older Pappy expressions,,,, not so much.

If you like big, spicy, bourbons that, for lack of better terminology are dryer and not so sweet this ones for you. My favorite thing about it is that it's still a bit rough and hot, but in a good way. Similar to Eagle Rare if you've ever had it, but more depth and a bit more oak.

If you see it, and it's within the budget, take a chance.

On a side note, back in the day when I made regular trips to New Orleans to visit the TommyBB family and BigO, I bought a hand selected bottle of Eagle Rare. Picked by Martin's Wine Cellar. This reminds me so much of that bottle. Maybe the reason I love this pour so much is because it brings back so many fond memories of times spent with just plain good people.

Never underestimate the power of good whiskey/whisky.

Rip sleeps up to 23 years I believe, but it gets a little overwrought and a hell of a lot expensive
