Properly Humidified Sticks aka Unicorns
I was thinking that a large percentage of sticks I purchase whether brick and mortar or online are rarely ever properly humidified. Typically the sticks are on the drier side. It could be a supply chain issue. Meaning the supplier ships the sticks to my LCS and they don't stay on the shelf long enough to get humidified. But what a real treat when I do find a place and the sticks are well humidified. What is your experience?

Haven't been in an actual Cigar shop in years as there aren't many in Wyoming, especially in smaller towns like I'm in now, but online vendors, I have never had problems with even smoking rott.
As long as its properly packaged I have never had a problem with the few places that I order from. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk |

My local B&M does a pretty good job. In my experience cigars seem to show up through the mail on the drier side of things. I always chalked it up to living in the desert. Thought it was a local phenomenon.

I've always thought that warehouse cigars are stored in higher humidity. Wet cigars ship better. Usually when I put new cigars in a humidor, the RH goes up.

That's my experience as well. One reason I like to let them rest a bit after they arrive.

I can absolutely verify that. I've been inside JR's warehouse in NC and they're kept at about 70+%.
