Jameson's Irish Whiskey

I bought this 12 Year Old Blended whiskey on Monday.

I sampled it on Monday evening and again on Tuesday.
Both times I had it with a splash of water, then with 1 ice cube and then straight up.

The color was a very nice dark gold, edging into a light amber, as opposed to the pale gold of the Bushmill's Black. Probably the result of the extra aging.

To the nose and on first taste, I found this whiskey to be very layered and complex, almost bourbon like.
It was a warm, brown sugar/caramel/vanilla aroma and taste, with notes of cinammon.

The finish revealed it's true Irish whiskey character, the malt (grain) and wood notes shining through.

As much as I like the Bushmill's, this blended whiskey will also have a place in my cabinet.

Sláinte!

Try Jameson's 1786 (I believe that's the name...). A wonderful, smooth Irish whiskey.

I think the Jameson's 1780 is the 12 year old version.

The more I drink this, the better I like it.

Jameson 1780 is aged for at least 12 years.

The design of the label has changed slightly, with the 12 Year Old printing now prominently on the top label and the 1780 designation on a smaller label below.
