Re-Hendrix-ized!
Was recently gift/trade bombed the shit out of with some great Hendrix cd's!!! It's good to be re-hendrix-ized! There is a great instrumental version of "Bold As Love" that just about had me in tears. Can you believe all of the music this one man gave to us in such a short time period!! If he'd have lived , we surely could never have kept up with him!! A true genious!!(thanks Greg!)

I know exactly the part in "Bold as Love" your talking about....
It's a solo about 3:00 minutes into the instrumental and it gets ya.... You can even hear Jimi in the backround say "YEAH"...as if it was nailed to a T! Then at the end of the 8:00 minute song...he wanted to re-do the take again and you hear Mitch Mitchell go"oh No".... Jimi wanted PERFECTION.... He did 47 takes of All Along the Watchtower...until Mitch Mitchell,Noel Redding said..."fuck you" 18 hours in the studio is enough! So Jimi did the guitar, bass drums and mix of the release of that song! And couldn't read a note of music or play the drums...but he figured it out! GENIOUS is an understatement! |

I almost wore out vol. 1 and 2 of his Greatest Hits. I miss them and need to get my turntable going again to enjoy them--very frustrating.
I had "Axis Bold As Love" SCREAMING thru head the day that I took the MCAT test for medical school. As the day got longer and I got more exhausted, the song got louder. At least it was (is) a great song to get stuck on. Afterwards, I promptly got knee-walking drunk.
