Thompsons

Thompsons had a deal on the cover of their latest catalog. 5 Monte whites, 5 AB Prensado plus a cutter, lighter and a 30 OZ growler. $59.99 minus 10% with code "HEAT" and free shipping. I bit but is backordered. Lets see what happens

I have recounted this a couple times, now. A cousin of mine sent me a humidor and some cigars from Thompson, all of them have proved to be well-better than the Thompson reputation here.

The cigars: they sent me a Victor Sinclair sampler which included brands only Thompson sells, the Cameroon is stellar, and the rest of them were quite good, too. Then there was a sampler of Pinar del Rio (PDR) Value Line Reserve which are fantastic for what they charge for them. Really good cigars in all three wrappers.

I pray they don't do the ol' bait-and-switch for which they earned their reputation.

They were bought out by CI. Lately not hearing good things about CI and have had some problems as well, can always cancel the order with the CC Company if the mess up

I had not heard about that. The address on the catalog and all still says Florida, or so I thought I read.

I have had little trouble with CI and have been ordering fairly regularly the last year or so. I am sorry to hear that not everyone has had the same experience.

I've occasionally ordered from Thompson's over the years with no problems at all.

The century-old Thompson Cigar operation in Tampa is being acquired by the Scandinavian Tobacco Group. The Danish company bought Thompson for $62 million. It expects the deal to close by the end of March."Thompson provides Scandinavian Tobacco Group access to a substantial and attractive customer base, auction and retail websites as well as a retail store and a call center facility in Tampa," Scandinavian Tobacco said in a release.
