The argument "they must be good, people are buying them" doesn't hold water.

For decades, General Motors was the number one car company in the world. Does that mean the cars were good quality?

Same for the products from Anheuser-Busch. They may be the No. 1 seller, but they are swill.

I suspect most of the sales are to wanna-bes, kids, and poseurs.

All jmho, of course.

.
That's never a valid argument. Desirability does not equate with quality, nor does rareness, exclusivity "small batch," or any other thing that just begs the question, "okay, so this product is *****, but why should I believe that this makes it a good cigar?

People buy what they want. Rational analysis of quality rarely goes into those types of purchases.

there is an appeal to newbies who are afraid to look stupid by asking. instead they buy something that looks impressive. but hells bells we all learned our own way.
