This cigar has a very nice smooth maduro wrapper. The bunch is firm with no soft spots. The wrapper has aromas of cocoa nibs and leather with some spices. The cold draw is perfect. Tonight’s beverage is a Southern Star Winter Warmer Ale.



The initial draws are full bodied with plentiful smoke. There are leather and spice notes. The construction looks very good with a clean burn and a layered medium grey ash. The ale is a good pairing with flavors that enhance the flavors of the cigar.



The first third is excellent. Cocoa nibs have joined the leather and spice notes for a solid complexity. The cigar continues to burn evenly and the ash is not flaky.



During the second third a nice white pepper note appeared in the retrohale. I had to touch up the wrapper once; it looks like the ligero got pushed to one side during the rolling process. The ample smoke is very cool and leaves a somewhat sweet finish.



Approaching the final inch the flavors have melded together perfectly. After the one touch up the burn went back to perfectly even. The construction is excellent. And having an ale that pairs so perfectly with the flavors is an awesome bonus. This cigar easily earns 9.5/10. Joe Bob says check it out.
