Leon Jimenes #4 (Don Fernando Leon)
These are special cigars. I was gifted one by Guerillmo Leon several years ago. They are made especially for his father. Well this year La Aurora decided to release some of them for sale. Wow...just as good as I remembered.
It is a number 4 size with a very oily deep chocolate wrapper. The cigar is firm to the feel and solid. You can tell this is special. After punching it, the draw is perfect. On the light it produces a ton of smoke. The ash is a light grey and the burn never needed any correction. The flavor is medium with lots of complexity....hints of chocolate yet with a slight tang. Very delicious. I was able to buy a box and I smoked this one to the nub and darn near burned my fingers. The only way you know these cigars is that the top of the box says in spanish hand made especially for Don Frenando Leon. Look for them.

The Don Fernando is one heck of tasty stick. I was gifted one about a year ago and let it sit for about 6-9 months. Complex is an understatement. Well worth the money. Nice review, Frank.
