After speaking with our principal owner, Renaissance Man tonight, we are ON for the CW Herf.

Last years event was a ROUSING success with, easily, 75 people in the room during the night, and many not wanting to leave. Watch out for the Famouns "NaughTea" that they serve.
Since 2008 when we heard that the International Premium Cigar and Pipe Retailers' annual trade show is being held in New Orleans for the next two years, Cigar Weekly's owners and editors decided that we should throw a herf/party during the show. So many of our members and friends will be in town for the show, what better time could there be to gather? Since 2005, Cigar Weekly members, at least in the year's I've been, have gathered on the Tuesday night.

So this year it will be Tuesday, August 10th, 2010. Mike will likely be serving regular customers beforehand, but we'll "start" around 7:30 p.m.

Editor-in-Chief TommyBB and friends will be have selected a suitable venue to capture the essence of New Orleans, yet comfortable enough to enjoy time with good friends.

The venue?

"French Quarter Pizzeria" at 201 Decatur St. one block from Canal Street.

It's an easy walk from the Faubourg St. Mary/Warehouse District and Convention Center.

We welcome any members or entities who would like to be a part of what promises to be, if nothing else, an enjoyable time to break bread, toast and share conviviality with fine cigars made by good friends and colleagues.

A menu is available on the website, and the prices are quite reasonable for New Orleans, in general, and the Quarter in particular. There MAY be some CW specials as well.

And it's time to say thanks to those who have offered to help us.

Cigar Weekly Editor and Administrator Steve Mazzuca (ronin) sent three boxes of cigars for the raffle, as well. I owe Steve big thank yous for his generosity!

Also, Cigar Weekly Editor-at-Large, Jason Clabaugh (BigO or Big Orson) has also generously given us a case of his acclaimed (literally) mango-habanero salsa!

Can't wait to see y'all down here.

'HutcH' Rick Hutchings, will donate a bone handled cigar cutter which he will scrimshaw right there at French Quarter Pizzera for the winner!!! If you have seen his work, it will be really well done. I have photos in my Facebook and, I believe, in Cigarticles: "Dispatches from the IPCPR"

We have other cigars in the works, too. I'll post them as they become definite.
