What is too cold for cigar storage?
I've got an Avanti EWC-28 without a controller. The temp is running 65 degrees with 64% RH on the bottom and 62 degrees with 68% RH on top. At what point should I invest in a controller? I don't want my sticks getting too cold, but I'm kinda strapped for cash at the moment.

if you start dipping into the mid 50's then I would add a controller, many people swear by 65degF and 65% RH

You're golden. Its generally agreed that mid fifties will slow the aging process. I'm not really sure how that works though.
Mine is the same though I've never tried it without a controller and my humidity is lower on the top. I thought it would be the other way around, but whatever.

Even in the basement, mine don't dip below 60, and they smoke fine around there.

So how is the new chiller working for ya. You got any pics? It is wierd mine was 66/66 forever. However now it has weird cycles (it must be a woman ). When I wake up it's 66/70. However throughout the day it gets to 68 degrees and 58 rh. I would have thought it would have been the other way around? I am thinking that since the house gets warmer during the day it trys to compensate and the chiller trys to keep the temp down thus lowering the rh in the process?
