Home made fix for no-taste cigars?

When I set up my first humi {150 count} a few months ago, I bought a 25 stick bundle of 7" very cheap sticks to help fill some space in it. The B&M shop said they were a very plain smoke, but that the price was the selling point. I smoked one when I put them in the humi and it had a rough edge to a no taste smoke. After a couple of months in the humi a bit of the rough edge is gone { at least on the second one I tried } but it smokes only a little better than "cardboard wrapped in dried corn husks". With nothing to loose, I thought I would spoon in about 1/2 teaspoon of some fresh espresso coffee grinds I just ground, into the cellophane wrapper around three of these cigars. I tapped the ends closed and then put them into a baggie to isolate them from the rest of the humi. I will add something to keep the RH in the bag in range, in the next few days. I think I will smoke one in two months, then one in four months and the last one in six months. If this does not work out, all I have lost is two teaspoons of coffee grinds and three cheap cigars. I realy like good coffee. So maybe this will help make very plain cigars, have a little bit of taste.
Now! Has anyone out their done any thing like this, to some no taste sticks in lew of throwing them out?
My Grandfather used to pick up a bit of tobacco from the sun cured tobacco barn of a neighbor of his. He would twist it up make some flavor mix and pore over it and bake it in the oven. He would use this to add to his "store" bought chewing tobacco to help make it go father.

In a few months I will be able say how this works out!!!
