Camacho Corojo Diploma banding

All the Corojo Diplomas originally came unbanded (still have 3 left from original box putchase of 7-8 months ago). Recently Camacho started putting a thin brown single band on the natural Corojo wrappered cigars saying "Diploma". Then the Corojo Maduros had a thin brown band saying "Diploma Maduro". I just recently received another 5er of the maduro with a "Camacho Corojo" band and the thin band that just says "Maduro". That's 3 banding changes over a few months time. Makes me wonder what I'm receiving, and how many more banding changes Camacho is going to introduce on these. Is the same true with the 11-18 and the 07-05? Are they all banded now? Similar to my banding experience with the Diploma?

Still an excellant cigar, and one of my favorite Maduros.

I don't know about their figurados, but I do agree that they have made way too many changes with their bandings on the Diploma robustos. You should go to the Camacho website and go to the forum. Post the question and Christian himself will answer. I did that about the Diploma robusto bandings and he answered my question.

Took InfrnalSky's suggestion and went to the source. Got an answer from Christian... see below.

Subject: Re: Camacho Diploma Banding
Thank you for the note and please forgive the confusion. Here's a long story:

Originally, the Diploma, 11 / 18 and 07 / 05 had no bands. Then we launched the Diploma and Camacho Monarca Maduro. At this point we decided to band the cigars so there would be no confusion.

However, bacuase of this confusion, all the new Diploma, 11 / 18 and 07 / 05 (natural, not maduro) will once again be unbanded.

Again, please pardon the confusion, it was not our intention.

Christian Eiroa

SO, it sounds like the naturals are going back to being unbanded again? Maduro with bands? What a roller coaster ride....lol.

Christian is a great guy. I'm glad to see them leaving them naked again. I think they look better that way.

There is nothing about Camacho's stuff that isn't confusing....

That said, i hate unbanded cigars. If you make a mistake and put unbanded cigars into one humidor, you'll never remember what the hell was what.

So its my not so humble opinion, that since the damn cigars enter the country legally, it's either outta laziness, or outta cheapness, and in either case simply rediculous, that they can't identify them with a band.

And thats all i have to say about that.
