With so many of them coming from the inferior japanese league?
Don't get me wrong, I am happy that the thug Rose is being passed in the record books. I just don't know if I think this is the way to do it.

No way! The hit he got in Japan were NOT hit in MLB. He only has 3,000 hits. If you want to penalize Rose, then give the all time hit record to the guy in 2nd place.

Now that he has 3,000, I will bet the Marlins will not resign him (if his contract is up) or, may release him at the end of the year.

I see both sides. On one side, the Japanese league shouldn't count. It wasn't MLB and that is important. On the other hand, he continued the hit onslaught during his MLB career and 'theoretically,' had he been here instead of Japan, I'm not sure the outcome would have been any different. Regardless, there's no doubt Ichiro is one of the best of all-time. Just an incredible athlete.

Agreed. But he does have to get all the hits in MLB to qualify as the all time hits leader by the league. He can be recognized globally as the hits leader, but not by any official body.

The NFL didn't count USFL stats nor the NBA the ABA. Come on MLB
