Partagas 1845 Black
Saturday night I did some digging in the humi & realized I has several Partagas 1845 Black Tubos (glass) hiding in the back of the 3rd shelf. I had not had one of these in quite some time, so after letting my dinner settle a bit, I fired one up. It was like becoming reacquainted with an old friend.
This black gem was very spicy right from the get-go, which I like a lot. I don't like waiting until the 2nd half of a stick to get the anticipated spice, and this one was right on the money from the few few draws. Even though it had a nice kick, it burned well and there was no bitterness even as I tried to keep from burning my fingers at the end. It produced a ton of rich smoke which is always a bonus and it made for a really enjoyable conclusion to the evening. Next time this stick is going to be accompanied with a nice crisp, frosty ale to balance the spice, which I think will be a great combination. Any of you all have any recent experience with the 1845? --RH
