2000 Mayorga Robusto
Pre-Smoke Comments:
64 degrees and sunny, 34% rh, in my usual favorite spot in the smoke shack, and no beverage. A 4.75x50, box-pressed robusto with a dark, mottled, Colorado Maduro wrapper, coarse, veiny texture, rough cap and very hard bunch. Nearly invisible seams, and strangely attractive appearance. Prelight draw is flavorless and a little on the tighter side, but should smoke fine and have good smoke volume. Smoke Comments: Burn was even, but had a tendency to nearly go out, with a slightly conical coal, and light grey ash with typical structure. Draw was tighter than expected and could have used some work from my draw tool, taking several puffs to keep it lit and get good smoke volume. Aroma was fragrant and there was no burn in the throat. Flavor was of ample richness, unequal balance, and medium strength, body and flavors of earthy, woody, with grassiness and mustyness dominating. No sweetness or saltiness, and light bitterness, burn on tongue, and sharpness. Summary: Character was common and lackluster with medium body, and overall, was fair at best with a final score of 70 out of 100. Sent from my SM-T820 using Tapatalk |
