Tonight I am making lumpia with leftover pulled pork and Pancit Bihon with chicken. And several dips for the lumpia....
A. Mojo Rising Thai Dipping Sauce 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup water 1/4 cup white vinegar 1 Tablespoon fish sauce 1 red chili, chopped Simmer for 5 minutes, enough to dissolve the sugar. Then cool. Add: 1 Tablespoon chopped peanuts 1/4 carrot, finely chopped 1/4 cucumber, seeded and finely chopped B. Lumpia Dip 1/2 cup orange marmalade 1 Tbs horseradish 2 tsps Dijon mustard 2 tsps lemon juice 1/4 tsp hot sauce 1/4 tsp salt C. Garlic Cider Dip (Did I get this from BigO years ago?) Crush 4 cloves of garlic in a cup of apple cider vinegar, let sit for a few hours. Last edited by jeepdad; 11-24-2021 at 02:37 AM. |

We’ve been in deer camp for a while now. Son is without me this week. Last night we did cowboy steaks and baked potatoes in the campfire with garlic bread. Epic night.

Traditional Thanksgiving dinner today. No ham, and no rib roast. I decided to spread out the holiday traditional proteins over the next few weekends so I don’t have so much leftovers in the fridge.

My son came over and we had those tomahawk steaks. Likely the best steak I've ever grilled.

These were even bigger than my usual 2" cut. Approaching 4" thick. I'd never grilled steaks this big as wasn't really confident that I wouldn't mess it up. They came out perfectly. Even K, who isn't a big beef eater came back for more and was really impressed.

Choice 4 rib rib roast, cream horseradish sauce, fresh green beans, baked potatoes, baguette bread rolls. Found a sweet potato pie for $0.99 cents. Picked up some Cool Whip for the pie.

Barb took a King Arthur class today on English muffins. Tonight we're having egg sandwiches on the muffins.
