My ice box conversion

I got this today

Just happened on it on Craigslist. Paid $400. I think I got a good deal

Right away I went to removing the tin. However, when I started gutting it I soon found out that the insulation board had a bit of mold or mildew at one point. I decided I was going to have to remove it. This is the door but the floors and the walls were quite bad.

Behind the insulation baord was cork. I'm sure at one point it was solid sheets. But with beling as old as it was it was just crumbled and dust. So off it went. The only places it was still intact was the doors.

This was all the tin I removed. It took about three hours to remove the tin and all the cork. Good thing I had a huge shop-vac.

This is what it looks like now. Notice the black paper this is some sort of water barrier? between the cork and the outside wood.

This is ThomKm's that I am trying to get mine to look like one day.

I have a lot of work ahead. Next week I will get some insulation.

What kind should I get?

I also think I will get some type of Tyvec water wrap to put inside it to create a air tight seal as much as I can. Over that I will put the insulation and the create a plywood shell over which I will put my Spanish cedar.

I will also need to get some type of humification device and then I need something to keep it at the right temp since I'm in Texas.

Any suggestion and help from others that have done something like this? I have also looked at MTMouse conversion as well.

I got my work cut our for me. I will keep it updated.

Thanks!
