RIP Fats Domino

Highly influential New Orleans musician passes at 89. So much of his memorabilia was lost in Katrina (he lived in the Lower 9th Ward). Recorded many hits at Cosimo Matassas' J&M studio in the French Quarter at the corner of Rampart and Dumaine. I imagine those records are quite valuable now.

Antoine "Fats" Domino, Jr. was an American pianist and singer-songwriter of Louisiana Creole descent. He had 35 records in the U.S. Billboard Top 40, and five of his pre-1955 records sold more than a million copies, being certified gold

RIP

LMAO!! I made the Gen X assumption that everyone would automatically know who Fats was. Raising millennial daughters, I realize now that wasn't so. Made me chuckle at myself. Ernie K Doe I could understand not having heard about, but Fats was big enough that I didn't even think about people not knowing who he was.
