USFL

  • Hilarious. Dude in the pre-show gets fired for asking for another piece of pizza. (Rule 57 on your contract. You signed it. This is your X, right?)
  • Awesome camera work. Buzzing the field with a kid’s drone.
  • Talent galore. Like high school playoff football.
  • Coaching! They dug up Mike Riley. Skip Holtz is as sage as his dad without the spittle.
  • Announcers! Jason (3rd string) Garret and Collinsworth’s kid. Yikes!
  • Electricity. It’s crackling like a Jerry Rice and Brett Favre knee brace scrimmage!
  • Officiating! Mike Pereira in replay central with more screens than a Lowes cineplex at the mall.

hey, I'm glad it's back. I was in the Original with the Gamblers. Seeing the logo again on a field brought back fond memories. As for the game, I liked it, sure a lot of NO NAMES and a few players that got a cup of coffee in the NFL/CFL. The Playoffs come to Canton and I'm 45 min from there so hopefully I can go to a game or 2.

BTW: T2B you'll get a kick out of this; after 15 years of being "retired from coaching", I'm back at it. I accepted a coach's position as the Special Teams Coordinator for a Semi-Pro Team here in Cleveland. My season starts Saturday May 14th.

They've dusted off Legion Field, again. 40 years after it outlived its use by date. Good thing it's as small as it is. Makes the lack of attendance less embarrassing. Not even $10 tickets can draw a crowd.

When I saw the Stones there in the 80s, you offered up a prayer for having gotten back to your car alive. BAD neighborhood.

Edit:They haven't mastered tackling yet.

I watched a couple of games; it was entertaining.
At least it entertained me. An occasional great play,
then they show you why they ain't in the NFL.
It's kinda strange that all the games will be played
in Birmingham. Population: 201,000. Out of that
pool of possible game attendees, they play four
games each weekend in the same stadium.
At the Breakers game, if the players' families had all
showed up, they'd have had more people in the stands.
I like the rules, especially how they measure first downs.
No chains, they use the cameras.

Great insight, there, Randy.
I hope you enjoy coaching, again!
