Has anyone tried...
... the Samuel Adams Imperial Series? I think the lines were an Imperial Stout, a Doublebock, A White Ale and A Scottish Wee Heavy.
There may be more - not available to me locally that I've seen. What were your impressions?

Tried the DoubleBock.
Very malty and rich in the way of a Scottich Heavy, but with some bitterness (not necessarily in a good way though). Still want to try them all.

I think I tried the imperial stout, and I think it sucked like a dyson.
I know that an imperial is supposed to be heavy and hoppy and strong, but I'm remembering this stuff as tasting almost like drano. Harsh, acidic, and hoppy to the point that it tasted like metals and solvent. I like my beers balanced, and smooth. Hops are great and necessary. Superhopped beers go from being refreshing and cleansing to being painfully overstimulating for my tastes. |

Thanks for the heads up.
Knowing that it is good, I just decided to buy Sam Smiths at or near the same price. I was tempted by the Sam Adams though.
