Glass Top Humidors
Cigars should be kept in a dark location right? So if they are on a desk, maybe not in direct light, but they are going to get some...this is a contradiction???? What is the effect if any????

That is also a question I had. Also does the humidity stay accurate in one of these. Good question!

I have one and don't have any problems with temp or rh. I do keep it out of direct sunlight, though.

I have a glass top Vicksburg. No problems with humiduty retention and I keep mine in the basement to regulate the temperature. Not a whole lot of light down there during the day.

Great question; I bought one because the dimensions were right, but would have preferred a solid top. I'm going to get a piece of cedar to cover the top tray.

I too have the Vicksburg and have had no problems. As long as you can regulate temperature, you should have no problems. Maintaining humidity is easy.

I built a glasstop in 98. No problems. glass is well sealed and I keep it out of direct sunlight. Direct sunlight, I believe, will fade wrappers.

Personally, I am wary of a glass top. Aside from the keeping it out of direct light (sunlight or man-made), it seems like just another place for the seal to possibly go bad and eventually cause a RH control problem.
Eventually the wood around the glass will shrink and it may or may not leak.
