Humidor - humidity problem - too wet

I've looked over several posts on this board, and through a search as well, and haven't come across the same problem - although, it seems there are several out there right now.

I can't get my humidor to get down to a humidity level that is acceptable.

1. I have a digital hygro

2. I have taken the humidity regulator OUT of the humidor.

3. Mold is developing on the cigars in spots - not plume

4. I had to move the humidor originally from a room where it got too hot .

5. The new room is cooler, but I have a direct ocean breeze coming in through that window - ocean is about 200 yds away.

6. I have left the humidor lid open during the day, and as it has helped, it still doesn't drop the humidity level below 75% sometimes as high as 79%.

7. The mold seems to have stopped, or at least slowed, but my humidor lid is wide open, and when I close it, the humidity level shoots back up again w/out the H.R. in there anymore.

8. I originally primed the humidor w/ distilled water, and used distilled water in conjunction with Propelyene (sp) glycol to set up the H.R.

Any suggestions?

Wide open Humidor -

Brad.
