favorite cuban music

ok gents. I've been listening to the afro cuban all-stars version of "hasta siempre (mi comandante)" for a few weeks. excellent song, however it is not my favorite version. I once listened what I think is a live version of this song performed by someone else. I want to say it was company segundo or maybe ibrahim ferrer. I'd like to find it again, and I'd appreciate a little help. the only distinguishing feature that I remember about it is that the singer had a short little intro where I guess he talked about the origing of the song. 2 or 3 sentences before the guitar kicked in.

I'd also like some suggestions on similar sounding cuban songs. I'd like to compile a cd. one which I'm particularly interested in finding is heard during a scene in "the fabulous story of the cuban cigar". I believe it was during the tobacco leaf sorting in the factories cigar factories themselves. not the initial sorting that takes place near the vegas.
