Help a pipe convert

I've got a kind of permutation on the "which tobacco?" question. In the profession I am entering it is more acceptable to smoke a pipe than cigars, which I currently smoke. I enjoy the experience of smoking a pipe more than cigars and it is cheaper, I think. All told, I am converting over and I am looking for a good tobacco smoke regularly. The pipe tobaccos I have had, (I've occasionaly smoked my pipe for three years now.) never had the kind of body that I was looking for without tasting kind of dirty. So I need a med-full body with a smoothness I haven't found. Please help a novice pipe smoker settle in for the long haul.
