For me appearance, touch, and feel 😁

Seriously, when I was more concerned about using them, I usually did the salt test.

Most digital hygrometers are going to be within 1% of each other, and right around accurate. You can do the salt test, but unless its an adjustable one, that only gives you 'math' to remember (i.e. oh, that one is +1, oh, that one is -2...) and I hate that.
Heck, if the cigars are between 60 and 70%, even down to 55 in the winter, I'm smoking 'em!

Govee, Govee, and Govee. They have so many options and as a frequent user/buyer you can connect with their online community through their Govee App to earn all kinds of discounts.

I've transitioned out of the models with displays. I don't need the displays and all they really do is cause faster battery drain. I just monitor on my phone and don't even need to open cooler, humidor, walkin to get current conditions. For those that need device interconnectivity, govee automation scripting is second to none. My walkin govee humidifier and air circulation fans get triggered by a Govee thermo-hygrometer.

Govee hygros come in three general types. Bluetooth only, all in one Wifi and Bluetooth, Wifi and Bluetooth with external gateway. I keep the smallest bluetooth only in my desktop, mid size all in ones in my coolers, and 8 of the gateway connected monitors scattered throughout the walk in. All can be easily calibrated through the Govee App.

What do ya'll recommend these days for humidity control?

Boveda packs. You can keep a separate cheap humidified container, over-humidify it, and the packs will recharge. Plus you can save some $ by checking cigar bid. Last time I ordered some, I saved about a dollar per pack (retail $4) on a 12-pack of the 160 gram 69% packs.

I'm now 100% Boveda or Humi-Care (Boveda Rebranded)

Here's a thread I recently put up on recharging the 320 gram packs. You can do the 60s by wrapping in a paper towel and sticking in a zip lock baggie. Just wet the paper towel with the same gram weight as lost during the time you were using the Boveda in your humidor.
https://forums.cigarweekly.com/showthread.php?t=185816

While I am breaking the intended purpose of "not supposed to be recharged", I do it anyway. Getting set up with a variety of packs gets expensive. I don't feel too bad about stretching out the life of a pack by a bit.
