$300 for a 500 count sounds about average. You can find larger boxes for less money, but generally you do get what you pay for, even though humidors are not terribly difficult things.

Keep looking if the style is not what you want - there are literally thousands of humidors on the market, in nearly every conceivable style. Finding the one you want is always the problem!
