Christmas dinner at USMA
It has been a tradition here for the plebes at mess hall tables to buy the whole table cigars for Christmas dinner. Then, after dinner, the entire Corps goes into Central Area and the Apron and enjoys.
Well a while back they created "smoking areas" so you couldn't just smoke anywhere anymore. No one ever enforced this on the night of Christmas dinner because 4,000 cadets could not fit into a few smoking areas. Last year, however, the Commandant took away Firstie (senior) privileges for 3 months because people were smoking outside the areas. Last night was Christmas dinner and the tradition continued. West Point livened up with the sweet aroma of fine cigars. People "attempted" to stay in the smoking areas but soon there were too many people and things overflowed into non-designated areas. It was a blast and some fine cigars were had by all. The best part, no actions by the Comm yet! West Point's Christmas Herf Lives! Go Army! Beat Navy!
